SCHEDULING YOUR APPOINTMENT
If you are a HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR/COLLEGE: Timing is all up to you and what time fits best for you. Fall
time makes for a beautiful outdoor session with the leaves that have fallen. In the spring time, you look more
like how you will look when you graduate.
PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION
Prepare for your session by viewing our online portrait galleries and think about ideas from our samples online.
If you are a HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR/COLLEGE: Our studio carries graduation cap & gown, traditional drape,
and tuxedo. All casual outfits are your responsibility to bring. Mary prefers customers to bring multiple choices
so that she can help decide what will photograph well. She asks you to bring at least one neutral colored outfit
(black, dark brown, deep tan, dark blue, dark green) with a simple neckline as one to choose from. Also, think
about completing the outfit from head to toe, which means shoes, as Mary likes to take some full length shots
as well. If you are in an extracurricular activity in school, such as sports or band, you might want to bring a ball
or an instrument to throw in for some shots. Letterman's jackets, sports jerseys, and cheerleader outfits are
also great to bring. Make sure you get plenty of sleep and drink a lot of water. Remove hats and change out of
any tight clothing that may leave marks at least 2 hours before your session. For females: If you dye or highlight
your hair make sure you get it done at least a couple days before coming in for your session. We can't fix
roots. For all clients: Don't change your hairstyle or do anything dramatic to your hair before coming in for your
session. If you are getting your hair and make up done by the studio make sure you come with your hair
clean/dry and bring your own mascara. Here is something to keep in mind~keep your choices timeless. You
don't want to look back at your senior photos and cringe saying "I wore that?!!" or "What was up with my
If you are a FAMILY GROUP: For family portraits it is best to try to coordinate how everyone dresses. This
means to dress in the same style, color, or mood. Dress as if you were dressing one person. Portraits turn out
best when everyone is matching or when color tones combine well together.

Our goal is to give you a friendly professional and artistic photography session. We take great pride in all of

TIPS, TRICKS, & FAQS
Q. Where is your studio located?
A. We are located at 406 Main Street above Ray's Cycle in the Downtown section of Vacaville. Go in the
middle door, up the stairs, and make a righ. We are the corner door on the far right.
Q. What is a portrait unit?
A. A portrait unit is 1-8x10 OR 2-5x7s OR 4-4x5s
Think of a portrait unit as a sheet. If you get 2 portrait units think of it as getting 2 sheets.
1-8x10 is a sheet & 2-5x7s is a sheet & 4-4x5s is a sheet. So, for example, with 2 portrait units you can get
1-8x10 and 2-5x7s
Q. How many wallets come on a sheet?
A. 8 wallets come on 1 sheet.
Q. What outfits should I bring to my sitting?
A. The studio provides graduation cap & gown, tuxedo, traditional drape, and glamour. Casual outfits must
be provided by the client. Mary likes people to stay away from busy patterns, very bright colors, and bright
white. The reason for this that the eye goes to the clothing and not the subject. High School Seniors like to
bring their letterman's jacket, sport uniforms, cheer leading uniforms, or other extra-curricular activities they
enjoy. Depending on your sitting, Mary likes at least 1 outfit to be a complete outfit (including shoes) so she
can do a few full length shots. For family groups try to coordinate colors and keep the colors neutral.
Q. I have scheduled a make over, what do I need to bring?
A. Make sure you bring your own mascara and come with your hair clean and dry.
Q. How long does the sitting take?
A. The amount of time a sitting takes depends on the type of sitting and how many outfits. For high school
seniors with 2 outfits it approximately takes about 45 minutes to an hour and for 4 outfits can take 1 hour
and 15 minutes to an 1 hour and 45 minutes. We ask you as a studio to try not to be in a hurry. We like to
give you quality time so we can produce a quality product for you to view. If there is no way around it we
understand and will work with you, but please try to have plenty of time to work with.
Q. I saw a pose on this website/in the samples I really like. Can I get the same pose?
A. Depends on what the pose is. Most of the poses we can create year around. The poses with the fall
leaves, however, can only be created when there are fall leaves to work with (So, in the fall season). Also,
the time of day can effect whether or not we can re-create the pose. If you see a pose you like, request it,
most likely we can go re-create the pose with you.
Q. How long does it take to get to view my previews?
A. It approximately takes a few days to a week.
Q. Can I view my previews at home to view them and make my decision?
A. Our set up is so that you schedule an appointment to come back and view the proofs on our computer
here at the studio with a programs that allows you to compare the photos. However, if you live quite a
distance from our studio (40 miles or further) we will work something out with you if coming back in is a
Q. How long does it take for the order to be completed?
A. It approximately takes 3-4 weeks to get an order. In our busier times, it may be increased to 5-6 weeks.
For graduating seniors who take their pictures in May & June, wallets can be rushed, but a 50 % deposit
MUST be made on a package!
Q. What types of payments do you accept?
A. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Cash, & Checks, however, on the final order
payment when the order is picked up we only accept Credit Card or Cash. Checks will not be accepted!
